An award-winning journalist, she is an NBC News Medical Contributor, an Emmy Award--winning former senior medical correspondent at CBS News, and former CNN medical correspondent. After graduating from Stanford University with degrees in economics and biology, she founded and served as CEO of her own small business before getting her medical degree at USC Keck School of Medicine, where she graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha Society Honors. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Harvard University\/Brigham and Women's Hospital and her fellowship training in cardiology at NewYork Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center.
