by Lauren Child (Author), Lauren Child (Illustrator)
Nobody has less patience for waiting than Lola . . . and no one exudes more joy when the day finally arrives! A surefire Christmas classic from the beloved creator of the Charlie and Lola and Clarice Bean series.
It begins when the leaves start to fall in September. "Christmas is soon!" Lola happily declares. Luckily, Charlie, her ever-patient big brother, knows a few good diversions, like making a list of Christmas to-dos (things that make Christmas more Christmas. There's writing Christmas cards--enough for forty-four elves and Lola's imaginary friend, Soren Lorenson. There's finding an extremelyish tall Christmas tree, one almost as huge as a polar bear. There's the Advent calendar with twenty-four little doors--though, unfortunately, Christmas doesn't come faster if you open them all at once . . . With a sackful of warmth and wit and her signature dynamic collages, Lauren Child gifts children (and the child in us all) a Christmas story full of wonders both familiar and magical.Author Biography
