Borglum drew heavily on the skills of Keystone miners, putting them to work on a mountain that would soon portray the images of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt. Author Biography

Tom Domek is the author of Custer State Park, also in Arcadia's Images of America series. Robert E. Hayes is a highly respected writer and local historian who grew up in Keystone. His father was one of the uncommon men who worked alongside Borglum in creating this tribute to the history of the United States.
